Why is my Windscribe not sending emails?
When I try to send emails using the Windscribe webmail, it says that the emails are not sent and no message has been received.
But when I check on my server logs, the email is received.
Why does it happen? By default, we don't send email unless there's an error on the page that's sending the email. In order to have the email sent, you can either turn off the logging, or add the following configuration in your config.js file (note that you need to get a value for "error.logger.enabled", in order to do this):
}
You can also turn off the email sending completely by setting "error.enabled" to false.
In addition to the other answers, we also recommend configuring your error logger to include the error details in the email message. This way you will see exactly what went wrong.
You can enable the error email (and optionally its attachment) as follows: error.apierrors.InvalidMessage",
"common.MissingParameters",
How do I stop Windscribe from emailing?
I have used Windscribe for a few years and it has worked great. I only started having problems recently when I was using it on my work computer. I found out that the email was coming from my ISP's smtp server. I checked my spam box but there was no email from my ISP. Then I changed my settings back to normal (I think that is what you call it) and then all of a sudden all the email I was sending was being sent by my ISP. How do I get rid of this problem? I use Yahoo! mail and want to keep it as the main provider of email on my computer. Any help would be appreciated.
Try this. If you have a problem with windscribe that you know is not being caused by windscribe itself, please contact windscribe@windscribe.com and we can determine what is causing the issue. Please provide details and your email address.
I had to contact you guys. The email from my ISP was making it sound like Windscribe was sending the emails. I have since removed windscribe from my computer, and I am not having any problems with my email from my ISP. Thanks for the help.
I was experiencing the same problem. Turned out that a bad piece of software from the ISP I was using was sending emails from my @gmail address. It looks like it was running in the background on every login attempt. I went into system settings and disabled the software (as far as I know it was called MailAgent). Problem solved. I went into system settings and disabled the software (as far as I know it was called MailAgent).
I had the exact same problem and I could not find the program name. I ended up opening it in terminal and it was called mailagent.
This is a really good description of my issue. I use Gmail to access my email on my PC, but am not sure whether it sends mail through my ISP's SMTP server. If I log into Windscribe, then send an email, it seems to be coming through my ISP's SMTP server. If I use Gmail, everything works fine.
Should I add email to Windscribe?
Is it a good idea?
What is the best way to do this for all of my computers at home, and my Mac mini workstation at work?
I was thinking of adding one email address for both Windscribe and Gmail. Then, on either the Windscribe or Gmail side, add a sub-account for my main mailbox. I think I'd just use a gmail address at work with no pop server on there.
On the Windscribe side, if I sign up for their VIP or business accounts, can I have the option of just getting the normal version for everything else? Or do I have to pick and choose which email apps I want to use? As for where I should register my e-mail address, here are the options I see: The Gmail address. As described in my questions, what do I do about having the option to choose to get a regular version (normal price) or the VIP or business version? A sub-gmail account at gmail. Like suggested earlier by a previous poster, this option seems a bit like hiding. I was told that you can't have the main gmail account and a sub gmail account, but you could just create a new gmail account. For example, you can make it something like username@vmail. That would be your primary address, and then a second sub-email address for work@vmail. It's a way of getting what I was saying earlier. There would be no option to not have those two email addresses (and I wasn't sure if you can use the same @gmail.com address for both).
I haven't played with Windscribe yet, but my first impressions with similar services were that they had better pricing, because they did not charge by the number of IPs. The service works great for my home needs -- no problems with spam or viruses (of course, my email isn't THAT important). It also has a nice feature of not giving me any ads. The only time ads came in was when I had a pop server on my ISP (TDS). But TDS is very friendly and does not do ad popping. I believe it is very difficult to get them to do that.
