What is the alternative to Aloha Browser?

Is Aloha Browser available for PC?

After the long wait I have finally received my Aloha browser, however my first question is why does it cost as much as a 3G data pack?

I understand from other threads that it is to do with getting people to use the browser and I think it is a big mistake from Opera and it probably has to do with MS wanting to make money but what about getting all those poor souls like myself to actually use it (I only use it as an email reader at the moment). Could someone please let me know if there is another browser around which costs as little as 15 minutes of browsing would be appreciated.

Thanks. Tony D. Originally posted by cgboyce: After the long wait I have finally received my Aloha browser, however my first question is why does it cost as much as a 3G data pack? The thing is that there are too many different things Opera needs to be a successful contender. They need an app store for both mobile and web (as seen in android), they need a unified marketplace for all their products (see FirefoxOS), they need to push their new browser without leaving any room for competitors like Mozilla, there needs to be a very good product for people that doesn't support some features of FirefoxOS while it is still under development, they need a very fast browser without losing its standards support, they need an easy to use browser that can compete against Chrome and Safari (which, sadly, is becoming increasingly popular lately) etc. A very expensive and un-promotional price for "the world's most advanced mobile browser" is just one of the reasons, you have to add all the other issues and, well, I'm just glad we don't need Opera right now.

Can you download with Aloha Browser?

(I am also using this browser for testing purposes to see how well it works)
Try setting the user-agent to "Aloha" and see if that does the trick for you: user-agent= Aloha. Alternatively, if you are really paranoid (because you use a shared server or something), you might want to try a slightly more complicated setup involving two separate proxy applications running on the desktop on localhost that act as a double (or triple) proxy. That is, one set of proxies for the browser to go through, and a second set going the other way so everything goes through Aloha. To do this, you would start with three proxy applications on the computer. One application will listen on Port 80 (it will be acting as your first proxy, or in this case, "back-end" proxy), while the other two applications will listen on your other ports (eg 9100, 9101, 9102). These applications should handle connections based on whatever you set.

Then, you should launch IE and set the user agent string to: You should be able to "click" through your firewall this way.
