How to install SSL VPN?
To connect to the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network service over SSL/TLS, the application must be configured as an SSL client.
These instructions are intended for use with the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client only.
Prerequisites for SSL VPN configuration on Cisco devices. You must configure SSL VPN on Cisco devices in an Active Directory or Microsoft domain environment. You cannot configure SSL VPN directly on a Cisco device.
To configure SSL VPN on the Cisco device, you must configure an SSL VPN client for a specific user account. In a Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client, the SSL VPN connection is terminated at the Cisco device and encrypted data sent to the remote site through the Internet. Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client has limited support for Cisco IPSec VPN in the client software. You can configure SSL VPN only for Cisco IPSec VPN users; you cannot configure SSL VPN for other VPN users.
For an SSL VPN client to function properly, you must configure the following two items: A valid private key. An appropriate trust relationship to be trusted. In the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client, a valid private key is provided only when the SSL VPN client user is added to a Cisco AnyConnect SSL VPN group. To add the SSL VPN client user to the SSL VPN group, you must supply the following information: The group name. The SSL VPN client user ID, which is generated by the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client when the client is installed on a server or router, and that user name is used to connect to the server or router. If you configure a user name for SSL VPN without a valid private key, the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client will fail to connect. To configure an SSL VPN client user that has a valid private key, the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client displays the following alert: Note This message is only displayed if there is an active connection. If the connection has been interrupted, the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Virtual Private Network client detects the loss of the SSL VPN connection and automatically reconnects. If the SSL VPN connection is lost due to the loss of network connectivity, then the SSL VPN client does not display this message.
Note You cannot use the "User Name" field to create a private key for the client.

Does anyone use SSL VPN for their web browsing? I used to use it, but in my web browser I'd be redirected to some page that doesn't have the best reputation (like a gambling site or something like that), and there's nothing you can do. Is SSL VPN a good idea for web browsing? What's the best way to browse securely? I use ssl VPN for web browsing and email, but I use a separate browser for this purpose. I use Opera Mini for its ability to be fast without using bandwidth.
Thanks. Buck. You can do the same thing with Opera mini too. It works really well.
Yes, I've been using Opera Mini for some time now and it works just fine, and I do like to watch video as well when I'm on the web. The only downside with Opera mini is the small screen size, so I have to keep the screen resolution at the minimum when I use it. As long as you aren't doing something sensitive or important on the web, you're fine. To answer your question, yes, I use SSL VPN. As a matter of fact, I use it so much for everything, that I actually use it for all my work activities.
It's not very different from how I usually use the internet, except that I use it on all my computers, and it's fast, and encrypted. You could try using anonymous proxy. I don't know if that will work with Opera Mini.
If you are referring to Tor, I believe Opera mini will work just fine with it, and it works like a charm on my desktop machine. On my laptop though, it doesn't seem to want to get started. I haven't tested it on my other machines, but I think it would work fine on them.
A possible workaround would be to use a Tor version for Windows. I do not know if it will work for Opera mini, however.
I am using SSL VPN as well.
