How many times can you watch a rented Amazon Prime movie?
I'm just curious how often people are watching (and renting) Amazon Prime videos. And are you still watching your rented TV show after 90 days, even if it's something you bought? The data for what I want to look at is not that great, unfortunately. I can't find any way to get data about what people have watched on Prime video. (They used to let you look at stats by title, but that page no longer works.) Maybe Amazon changed the way they report the data or someone's stolen the list of TV shows.
In any case, even finding where the viewing data is kept isn't easy. The best sources I've found for Amazon Prime viewing data are from some pretty far afield: An article in the U.K. Newspaper The Observer (from 2008) which reports how the Prime subscription program helps bring more revenue to TV networks, and links to a list of top 100 shows with more detailed information: If you try to read this article it links to a page that says not available when I try to visit it. So not very useful.
A blog posting (from 2011) from a company called Viewster, based in Austin, TX: That article suggests that only the first 30 days of rented videos are reported. Since I don't have access to Amazon Prime viewing data for 90 days, I can't really verify or comment on that.99, so this is still a bargain.
How much is it to rent a movie on Amazon Prime?
You've probably had to think about the price for Netflix and Amazon Prime before. But in the era of instant, one-click streaming, there's now a service that is even cheaper than others. It's called Prime and it's free to try, which means you can rent four free movies a month, watch Prime originals on your phone or computer or stream to two rooms in your home and not have to sign up for any other subscription or pay additional fees.
But, as with all of these services, the more you use them, the more you'll spend, so you'll want to be mindful of that going forward. You can read more about what you're paying in this handy video.
Now that I've given you the lowdown on what Prime is, I'm going to explain what you need to know about streaming Netflix, HULU and Prime to watch the movies. Prime includes an instant streaming app on PC, Mac, Roku (on-demand and on its platform), Fire TV, smart TVs and mobile devices that will stream anything the major three services offer. And if you don't have access to any of those yet, you can still watch the same movies through Amazon's subscription service, called Amazon Unboxed, which is a great option for older phones and basic devices.99 a month, which you can read more about here. It's one of many subscription options offered by the service, but it is an option - it's not mandatory.
What you're paying for. There's only one catch to the service: There are restrictions. It won't let you watch movies while simultaneously streaming something from another subscription service (which in the days before streaming became easy and seamless was a major hurdle). If you're watching something that isn't Prime, like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Unboxed, you can't watch a Prime movie, unless you watch them at once. Even then, you won't be able to watch two at the same time (more on that in the next paragraph).
What are the rules for renting a movie on Amazon Prime?
I don't have any issues with their rental policy but just wanted to know if there was any type of fine or something if you rent a movie for 30 days and then it expires. I'm talking about if the movie has already expired on Amazon.
If you're renting a movie and it expires, do you have to delete it from your Amazon account? Or does Amazon keep track of how many days you rented a movie? If you keep it in your Amazon account, is it considered used? I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm genuinely curious what the rules are on renting a movie on Amazon Prime.

This may be an Amazon policy and is subject to change so I'm posting this as a "best guess". You can keep the movie indefinitely. It is not counted against your Prime membership or your account balance. However, you are limited to 4 rentals a month.99 each time you rent.
It doesn't expire. Amazon doesn't track how long you've had it, or when you're going to return it. You can delete it from your Amazon account, or keep it indefinitely. However, you are limited to 4 rentals per month.
There's no fine if you return the movie too late. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post another question and I'll do my best to help you. No. The movie will stay in your account forever.
No, it is not considered used.
What movies have I rented on Amazon Prime?
I started using Amazon Prime a couple of years ago. It's a great service for accessing movies on demand (and Blu-rays) from Amazon. I also enjoy reading Kindle books, and some TV series (Doctor Who, Sherlock, Black Mirror), which I access through the TV app.
But what about the movies? Have I ever watched one of these? What was I watching? Here is a list of movies I have rented from Amazon over the last couple of years, and which I have actually watched. I've also left out movies I watched for longer than a week, or that I haven't actually watched at all.
(If you're interested in more details about my movie watching habits, I wrote a post last year with a lot of data about my Netflix viewing). All-time bests. These are the movies that I have watched the most, and which I have enjoyed the most. The Incredibles (2004). Not my favourite Pixar movie, but my favourite Pixar movie. The Incredibles is about a family of superheroes who have to hide their superpowers from the authorities. As you might expect, it's extremely funny, and even more so when you watch it in French with subtitles.
The Girl on the Train (2016). A thriller/drama about a couple who meets each other by chance, and starts an affair. I watched it at the end of last year.
Worst movies. These are the movies that I have watched the least, and which I have found the least enjoyable. The Hunger Games (2012). This movie came out when I was 17, and it was the first time I ever watched a movie with a rating of 10. I just couldn't get into it.
The Bourne Legacy (2012). As I mentioned in a previous post, I don't like Bourne movies. And this one didn't help my opinion of the franchise.
Antichrist (2009). Christian movie, where a pastor's daughter becomes pregnant and gives birth to a child who has all the features of a serial killer. Very controversial, and definitely not for everyone.
