Are there any free VPNs for torrenting Reddit?
I'd like to download some of the movies on the internet that I have found on some subreddits, but when I look for free ones on the internet it turns out they're all paid.
How do I download from them without paying any money? Edit: To be clear, I've found a subreddit where the only rule is "no piracy", so it's really no different than an open torrent site. So if there's a free VPN that can be used for downloading from that kind of subreddit, it would be great.
If not, is there a free VPN that can be used for downloading from Reddit? Hi there. Yes, with Free VPN you can download content from sites like Reddit, you just need to make sure that the VPN service offers a no-log policy. Once you connect to that site and make the request, your IP will appear as coming from a location in Russia, which could be enough for Reddit to accept your request, as this has happened to me once before. If you want to have any confidence about this, you can install a website blocking tool, such as Free Online Privacy, which is designed to detect the real IP address of users, instead of the IP address provided by the VPN service. Once you verify the IP address, you can start making the request.
Thanks for the suggestion. When I install No-Log VPN on my laptop, I don't know what IP address to use for Reddit or any other website, I think the IP address for Reddit should be hidden from public because I didn't use anything wrong.
I am now going to download more from torrent sites because I got blocked by the website blocker, it's quite easy to make a fake request from a different location. So if you guys can tell me the real IP address for Reddit that would be helpful, or some torrent site with no logs that I can use.
I've tried No-Log VPN and found it doesn't work for Reddit. You need a VPN service that offers a no-log policy. When I tried the one linked to the first answer, it wouldn't even give me a connection to Reddit when I tried to navigate to it.
The reason it might not work for Reddit is because it probably doesn't offer that particular feature.
Will I get caught torrenting with VPN?
I have downloaded the Ubuntu 18.
10 daily build and it is running fine on my machine but will I get caught downloading files from torrents if they use a VPN while I'm at it? I assume that most of the torrent clients on Linux would have to be specifically written to look for those specific IP's on a network to know if I'm using VPN or not. Even so, what are your thoughts, will this even work or should I be more worried about other things? For example, I read once about a person who ended up with a virus since he was so careless about what he downloaded, but is that even possible these days? I'm really just curious. I want to be as safe as possible while still enjoying this new distro and all the great things that I know it has. Thanks for reading my post and any help you may provide. Sorry if the answer to my question is obvious to you and I thank you in advance. Cheers!
This is a question of policy rather than technology. The reason is that there are many users on public WLANs that use these 'VPN services' with bad intentions. Some of them even want to spy on others. Therefor the WLAN-Provider sets specific parameters for a device to be connected to a WLAN-network. These parameters are different from one provider to another and they make this very difficult to handle. You won't be fined or blocked. But you may not be allowed to connect and there are quite a few people doing this because they think that their behaviour will not get them in trouble or that they're doing something very good. It can take a long time to get caught doing this (as for example I am currently writing this). However, a number of users do get caught this way, even if they had VPN set. So it is best to download as quickly as you can, even in countries where downloading is punishable. You are right and thank you for your comment. I also find it difficult to trust the way of life of people who might just be using a VPN service, without even knowing the legal ramifications of such. The government is always going to come into the mix eventually, however it may not happen anytime soon. As for getting busted using VPN services as far as I'm concerned it won't ever happen with me but I'm assuming it does happen.
Is there a free VPN that allows torrenting?
I've been having a hard time trying to find a free VPN that allows me torrent. I'm going to be buying from the uTorrent site but I want to be able to browse freely and it being blocked by my provider is slowing down my purchasing process greatly. I looked at NordVPN and I want to make sure it's free, doesn't have some other annoying feature I don't like, and uses DNS/IP filtering to block sites like youtube and other major websites on port 80 and port 443. All of these are what I need to be satisfied with for the time being. Any suggestions?
I have a free trial for a service called TunnelBear which also allows BT. To be honest I prefer to use a paid one for the simple reason I can buy the premium service as required so the provider knows they will get payment and they can make sure they get their money.
It looks in the last few days there have been fewer than 10 free providers active so if you do a search for free VPN you will see many that are no longer active. Yes, you can torrent from a VPN, but only if your VPN supports the feature. If not, torrenting is still disabled completely, it has nothing to do with the free vs. Paid aspect. So, it's really just for convenience of using a service that you already know from the vendor. And yes, it's easy to get caught torrenting, most VPN providers will log your IP even if you don't use the VPN (they still need to bill you). So as I stated earlier, torrenting from a VPN that isn't actively supporting it is very weak security indeed.
Yes, NordVPN is indeed free and supports Torrenting. There are other options out there, that don't allow torrenting, but are either free or close to free.
This thread is getting a little old with people saying its not possible. As it's been pointed out earlier, torrent support has been available for a while, it's just that very few free VPNs offer this feature. That being said if you do use a free VPN, it is advisable to just use one that has had its servers moved or added to.
