What is the cheapest option available within Paint Scrapers?
Is it better to buy an older machine or one that has been used more? Which brand would you recommend? (If you already own a model you would suggest, I just wondered)
Also, if anyone has any tips on how to manage paints on large formats, from buying paints to painting and drying is greatly appreciated too. Also, does anybody know a way to have a printer that runs from a USB port and can fit in a laptop bag. The only things that I have found that are small and easy to carry are tablets. But what happens when I am on a train or plane or anywhere that is not a stationary surface?
Thank you for any advice, I really want my paintings to be successful and I appreciate your input. You could use a printer that connects to a desktop system using an ethernet cable (so you have power) or a powered wireless setup (no power cords) such as wireless HP JetDirect. For the size of a tablet you might be thinking of a slate. You can't just put a screen on a tablet but you can put a monitor and a keyboard one. I've used one like that and it was handy. As far as I know there is no tablet that would fit into a laptop case but if you had a special case/dock with a usb plug that would work.
But in the end you are going to need a monitor for at least some time until you get used to the format of the canvas (which is different than the monitor you use every day at work) and the quality of the output. My suggestion would be to get two monitors. One that will be mounted next to your "real" desktop and one that you will use for printing or photo editing. Maybe the second display could even be a projection screen where you could place your tablet for the "no cords" days. If you keep your tablet close to where you print, they both become easier to manage and move. If you get good prints, you may not even want to bother with your tablet display.
I am still considering getting a new printer but at this point I know that it's not worth the price and it is unlikely that I'll want to paint large at this stage in my life. I don't actually want to paint on canvas at all. Although most things I do need an output medium.
What is the best-rated product in Paint Scrapers?
I am interested in buying a paint scraper for my son. He wants a small one and I am looking for one that has been well reviewed. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks for any help.
I have a small plastic one with a flat head that works quite well. I think it is a Harbor Freight product, but I don't remember which one. If you have a Harbor Freight store near you, they may be able to direct you to the correct model.
I just bought a Harbor Freight and I love it. My only complaint is that it is very hard to find a replacement blade. The one that came with mine was a little too big to fit in the toolbox.00.
Thank you everyone for your help. I had ordered the Harbor Freight one based on the positive reviews. It is really a good product. I'm glad I bought it. I think I'll also order the Harbor Freight blade for it.
I bought the Harbor Freight because I knew it was made in the USA and I wanted to get it on sale. It was a great deal. It works just as well as the ones you can buy at a hardware store. I'm sure there are some better ones out there but I haven't found any yet.
The Harbor Freight version is the best for a child because it has the narrowest head. There are a lot of blades available from Harbor Freight but I'd suggest going with the one that's closest to the size you need. The width of the blade is the main factor for choosing one.
Also, the Harbor Freight model has a flat head. A lot of other models have a rounded head. The rounded head helps reduce the chances of slipping. However, the Harbor Freight has a narrower head, which is better for using the tool to remove paint.
The Harbor Freight is made of plastic and is less expensive than some of the other paint scrapers. You can use it for a long time before needing to replace the blade.
My husband has a Harbor Freight paint scraper that he uses to clean up the garage, and it works fine. I have a Harbor Freight paint scraper that I use to clean up the kitchen and it works fine too.
