How do you connect your droid to the app?
What I mean is that if you have an NFC compatible scanner and use it with the app you need to scan a tag with that data first. If you're using the app without your phone and then a second device such as a pad, what do you need to do so that it actually stores the data and shows it on a screen? Or, do you get rid of your phone altogether?
I guess my question isn't how to scan an item, but rather how to connect it to the app. I do, I'm not sure why I would want to though. Do I need to use my phone to input the information into the app or can it store it for the app to display later? As you said, I don't even need touch my phone once I'm finished.
It should be able to pick up its information, and store it in some kind of cache for future use, then be able to display it on an attached device, like an e-ink pad. I don't think any Android device will do a good job reading data from a radio frequency tag, but there are some Windows devices that do well.
My idea is that at some point I'll put two such tags on my phone and I'll be able to move them around to scan from different angles and directions. I had this idea awhile ago with an app that I was thinking about developing. I was curious as to whether it was something you guys wanted to see. So, I've been working on it in a free and open source way and it's not ready yet. Still need to tweak it quite a bit. But, when it's done I'll have something that hopefully works.
However, if you're really interested, there is another app I've created which works on this very same basis. It's still in it's infancy so please be patient.
And before you say "what is this supposed to be" there's a link below where I actually talk a bit about it. Anyway, I would like to ask anyone who is interested to give it a try and report back how it worked out for you.
Is there an app to control Disney droids?
Hi all! I'm a Star Wars fan from my childhood, I have a lot of knowledge about the films, characters and even the technical aspects of the show (special effects, etc). I'm looking for a way to control the droids using my phone, for example I want to know when the droids wake up in the morning and when they go to sleep, how do I do it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I understand the use of the "remote" feature in the film/tv version of the show, but that requires you to actually be near the droid at the time. You could record yourself talking into the remote and play it back, but you still have to be there to do that.
What you are describing sounds like an automation system. There is software available that does this for your home, with the ability to trigger remotely. (For example, "smart lights" that turn on at a set time) This would work over the network.
I would imagine you could also get this software to do it for you and your friends. But maybe not for free.
Well, for real, I did try this out, and I don't think it's possible to control them from your phone. At least, I couldn't find anything. I'm still looking for some advice though, I will definitely keep looking.
I am interested in the same thing, there was an app that allowed you to control the droid's from your phone, I believe the droid would speak back to you but I can't remember the name of the app. It was pretty cool to be able to control them. If anyone has any information let me know.
Thanks for the info! There's something called "Disney Droid Voice" for Android. Unfortunately it's only for kids.
I had a similar idea and was just looking to see if it was possible to accomplish this. I am wanting to control the droids through the phone and have them talk back, and possibly even answer questions.
How much does droid cost?

The Droid 3 has officially been released to Verizon stores worldwide today, August 11, along with a new and updated Droid Pro (see all the details below). A few days ago, I had the opportunity to review the Droid 3, and I was very impressed with what this handset has to offer. I came away impressed by its dual-core processor, excellent cameras, beautiful display, great build quality, robust hardware, and a very slim form factor.
I'm glad to report that the phone itself was a very solid option, and it's well within reach for just about anyone who needs a powerful mobile device for daily use. In this review, I will discuss what the phone is and isn't, what features I found to be most impressive, and where it stood in comparison to its predecessor, the Droid 2. There's no doubt the new Droid 3 is an impressive new Android device, and I was impressed by how thin and sleek the device feels. The build quality of the device is solid and the new design allows you to get an even better grip on the phone. I particularly liked that you can flip the phone upside down and it still remains locked, so you don't lose any of your data by dropping the device. As I mentioned earlier, it is very slim, and can easily fit in your pocket. The entire body of the device fits perfectly into your hand and provides you a solid feeling when gripping it. The device feels strong enough to be able to withstand some bumps and drops while still being easy to pick up when you want to use it.
If you take a look at some of the other Droid models available to Verizon, you'll notice that they're almost the same height, only inches shorter than the Droid 3, and the weight is also about the same. This makes them a little easier to use in one hand. If you hold the phone up to your ear, the size difference is even more dramatic. When you place it up against your ear, you'll see just how big this device is compared to many of its competitors.
The display of the Droid 3 is gorgeous, and I noticed right away that it is much brighter than I thought it would be. It was also very accurate, making it easier for me to read text on the screen.
What does Droid Depot app do?
Droid Depot is an app that allows you to browse and buy apps from the Play Store. You can then download and install them on your device, so you don't have to find a WiFi hotspot or upload them to Google Drive.
You can browse the store from any web browser, and find apps and games that you can install directly on your Android device. How do I get started? Sign up and create your own account in Droid Depot. It's quick and easy, and you'll be up and running in no time. You can browse apps and games by categories or by popularity.
From there you can download apps and games that you want to try and install on your device. When you've finished installing, you can leave feedback and rate them.
The app is free, and it's also ad-free. However, it does display banner ads in the app and on the website. This allows us to keep the site running and maintain the free service.
So far the app has a good selection of paid apps and games, but we're still working on building up a selection of free apps and games. What can I do with the app? Once you've signed up, you can browse the store and search for apps by category. You can also filter the search results by price, size, and number of downloads.
There are some great apps on Droid Depot, and we're adding more all the time. If you don't find what you're looking for, why not leave a comment and tell us what you'd like to see in the store? Droid Depot app is a really good app. I had this problem a few times when I downloaded an app from Google Play and it was not downloading. I had to clear data and cache. Thank God I found this app.
Bobby. I can't download the app. It says I need a gmail account. I've tried signing up with my gmail and also with my phone number. No go.
I've tried this on my phone and on my laptop.
