If your router gets blocked in another country then don't use the router until it's sorted out, otherwise if it's just a browser problem then just use a different browser. Are you talking about blocking sites on the LAN side (your personal LAN), or are you talking about blocking remote access? In case of blocking on the LAN side, it's possible to use iptables and redirect the packets. It will slow down your internet connection, but not so bad. Also you can block sites using a firewall. There are lot of firewalls available for linux. Most of them allow to block only particular ip's or range of ips. And you can also find plenty of instructions in the forums here.

Some websites are not safe and they can kill my router so I want to block them. I see. Then that's not openwrt or firewalls. You need to ask on a server administration forum or similar, and hope that they can help you.

You could try this though. You should have more than one router, and configure your first router as the DHCP router. All other routers are configured to get IP addresses from the first router. The first router has no problems.

What I mean when I say normal is there is a lot of people surfing around through the web and using their pc so I want my router to be as normal as it can be without getting blocked so what I do is turn off my internet but I want to leave the router on. Thanks.

Which countries should I block on my firewall?

You have a few options when it comes to blocking websites on your network.

The most obvious one is to simply use the built-in firewall on your router or use the built-in firewall on your modem. Next would be to simply disable your router's internet access for a few minutes so that it doesn't forward any traffic to or from these IP addresses. Or you could simply block the traffic and save yourself the hassle of having to do this manually every time you need to access the internet. Blocking websites via your router. You can block websites using either your router's built-in firewall or the router's firmware itself. It's pretty simple. Once you find out how to do this, it's just a case of unplugging the cable to your modem and plugging it back in again, then you'll be all set.

Here's how to block websites on your router with your ISP's firewall: Turn your router's internet access off Turn the firewall feature on Your router's firewall will automatically redirect all the traffic that's coming from the outside into the internet to its own firewall, where it will be filtered by the router's own firewall settings. Turn the firewall feature off Again, your router will automatically redirect all the traffic that's coming from the outside into the internet to your router itself. In this case, it will be redirected into your computer's internet access, where it can be blocked by your computer's firewall software That's it, your ISP will now only be able to access your router's firewall to see if you're blocked. Blocking websites via your router's firmware. If you don't want to use your router's built-in firewall feature, there's another way to go about it. Just make sure you unplug the cable to your modem and plug it back in again, and you'll be all set.
