What should DNS server IP be?

Can I find DNS from IP?

I am trying to find an IP address on google.

The problem is that the IP address of google.com doesn't always return the same result if I look for it from different countries. So how do I find an IP from a country (the DNS records for these are in the same location, just one with different addresses) without having to go to the website directly?
For example: Country 1. Search IP: 123.45.678.900
IP returned: 74.125.100
I go to google.com in Country 2 Search IP: 123.900 IP returned: 123.900 Yes, you can: Go to. Enter the URL you want to check into the box. Then click the button on the bottom of the screen. A new window should pop up, showing the IP address. Click "Refresh". You will see that the IP changes - this is because it's a dynamic IP.

If you have a laptop and a cable internet connection (or a cable modem), use the following technique (which is very simple and almost foolproof): Using your browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome), start typing a web address into the address bar; the IP address (if any) of the target website will usually be displayed there (and if you're lucky, the host name). If no IP address is displayed, click the refresh button of the browser; the website may then appear to resolve. Try again.

Repeat until the page shows up.

How do I find my IP address with DNS?

How do I find my IP address using DNS?

In other words, if I type www.google.com it should give me a list of the IP addresses with the domain name. Is that possible?

Here are a few ways you can accomplish this with one of the built in web browsers: Type the domain name into Google's search box and press Enter. Type the domain name into an alternate search engine like DuckDuckGo and press Enter. Navigate to Google's Webmaster Tools (or any other tools of your choice) and search for the domain name. Use any other application that integrates with the built in DNS service (like OpenDNS). With all of these options, after logging into your DNS information with the web browser that has internet access on the computer in question, once you have logged into your DNS information it will be as simple as using the web browser to enter the domain name and pressing enter.

What should DNS server IP be?

I am new to DNS server.

I am planning to run bind server and its DNS server ip will be static IP address. Should it be a static or dynamic IP? If static, should I give a specific static IPs like localhost for my local machine?

It depends on your situation. If you are in charge of the hardware/etc. That is managing the DNS records, and/or if the record would not respond anyway then make it static, just to ensure everything is in order. However, if your clients do all the managing of the record for you and cannot access said DNS record, make it dynamic and let them handle it.

How do I find my DNS server IP?

The DNS server has the IP address of 172.

16. You need to use the same IP for your server because when you're logged into your server it's always in the 172.1 network.

What do I need to change my server to? To be able to browse any domain names on your server, you have to add the names of your domains to your /etc/hosts file. I forgot my host name. How do I find it? You can find your host name in /etc/hostname. Make sure it matches the host name in /etc/hosts.

I don't have a host name, but I have a /etc/hosts file! Why? As long as you're using the default configuration, you don't need to change anything. I have an entry in /etc/hosts that reads: 1 xxx.xxx I want to remove it because it doesn't seem right. How do I change it? Run hostname -f. That will list all your host names. Pick one and edit your /etc/hosts file accordingly.

I typed in the wrong command and now I have no host name! What should I do? Change the host name with hostname -f, then reboot the machine. I typed in a command, but nothing happened. What do I do? You need to type in some characters after typing in your command. It might be that you did not type in enough characters.

How do I reset my host name? Go to the /etc/init.d directory and find the script named hostname. Look at the top of that file for a comment line.

#!/bin/bash. It should read like this: #!
