How do I get FoxyProxy on Firefox?

What is the IP proxy helper for Firefox?

I am trying to find the IP proxy helper for firefox.

I need to know whether my internet connection has the IP-address of my ISP or I am using IP-adress of another company. Is there any way to find it?

I used firefox plugin named "ip-proxy-helper". You can see when you try to go a URL if your current IP is the IP of the provider or not. You can also set the new IP for "IP-proxy-helper" through GUI: Edit > Plugins > Options > IP-proxy-helper. I just want to know if my connection is with ISP or not. Not sure if I can make change IP manually through plugins. I didn't know how to do that.

There was no such feature in firefox as I remember. It was not there by default.so had to install it.

Did it solve my problem? I'm sure this is a very basic question, but I just can't figure it out! I use the Firefox version of the IP-Proxy-Helper. I first installed it as a Firefox extension, then I just downloaded the latest package from their homepage. I was able to configure the IP-Proxy-Helper by editing the preferences under Preferences. (Plugins > Options). I now have a checkbox to show the IP-Proxy-Helper on my toolbar. In addition, in the Tools menu I've created an entry that opens the IP-Proxy-Helper Preferences panel.

When I open any website, I see the green "Proxy-Helper icon" on the right side of the page title bar. When I visit a URL through a web browser, it shows the IP address of the IP-Proxy-Helper. When I do so, it does not matter if I go to the URL directly or by clicking through a Google link. It shows the IP-Proxy-Helper always.

When I click on the "View Proxy" link, it shows me a box where I can set the IP-Proxy-Helper to the IP address of the Internet Service Provider. For example, the address of Comcast.net is 74.125.224.105.

But I would like to get the green icon next to the URL title. With the latest version it is shown only for sites on Comcast.

ok im running ubuntu 16.04 and I have a question, when I run sudo apt-get update it says failed to fetch but I can click on it and it opens for like a few seconds then redirects me to an https page? any ideas? bobus101: try "sudo apt-get update" - it might report more detailed errors which help you figure out why the URL isn't valid. bobus101: if you don't know the host name of the URL, use "ping 8.8" to see if DNS resolution works TJ-: no errors reported. it just doesnt load up. TJ-: ping 8.8 gives output bobus101: OK, and "cat /etc/resolv.conf" - do you have a nameserver there? TJ-: yes. TJ-: nameserver 8.8 bobus101: the system appears to be resolving the server name OK, but is redirecting to another server. This suggests a firewall or NAT issue TJ-: yea it looks like theres something wrong with that ipv6 address, but I never enabled it. TJ-: im trying to figure out what it is. bobus101: is the ISP's gateway (not the local router) the main proxy you've set? TJ-: its only for web browsing tho. bobus101: could it be an upstream cache of some kind?
