How do I force Excel to enable macros?
I'm using Excel 2024.
When I open the workbook, I get a message that says. "Enable macros" and there are two buttons, "Yes" and "No". I've never seen this before. How do I enable the macros? Here's a screen shot: Select Tools->Options. From the Excel menu, then click on Trust Center Scroll down to Trust Center Settings and make sure that "Trust access to the VBA project." is checked.
Now select "Trust Center Settings" from the Excel menu. Select Trust Center Settings again, then check "Trust access to VBA project object Model". Click OK twice. Close Excel and open it again. Macros should be enabled now. I have similar problems with Excel 2024 (on windows 7). The solution that worked for me was to download and install the latest version of Office 2024.
How do I disable group policy macros in Excel?
I'm trying to set the display preferences in Excel 2024.
There are 2 options in the "Display" section of the Excel Options dialog: Auto size. Auto size on scroll. I want to use Auto Size on Scroll. However, when I go into Group Policy Preferences > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Office > Excel and uncheck "Enable Automatic Display Settings", it has no effect. I also have "Disable Display Settings", and that makes no difference.
Any ideas? It turns out that the GPO was disabled because I had to create a new GPO, after which the new GPO became enabled. Once the GPO was enabled, the settings were allowed.
Sorry for not posting that in the original question.
How do I enable Excel 4.0 macros in group policy?
I have an issue where when someone with a laptop with a version of Excel >= 2024 and Outlook 2024 tries to create a new email message using Windows Mail, Excel 4.
0 shows up in the list of Office apps that it wants to launch for the purpose. And this is causing me to have to use an outdated version of MS Office that will not work with my customers.
Is there a policy I can set to only enable Excel 4.0 macros if they are launched from Outlook? This may not be exactly what you are looking for but here are links to help: What you want to accomplish isn't possible currently. The short answer is; you can't. I don't recommend changing any settings that will affect more than your own laptop unless you are SURE that you aren't going to mess it up. The most common thing I've seen happens when people install updates or use the auto-update of MS Office without knowing what the update affects. A restart or two might solve some of the problem but not all of it. The best thing you can do is make sure that you download patches for updates to existing programs, and only ever install them after reading the instructions and ensuring that they will NOT break your computer.
How do I enable macros for all users?
I am having problems with macros in Outlook 2024.
When I use macros, I can't seem to activate macros for all users.
When I do: Sub CopyToClipboard(). MsgBox "Hello World!". End Sub. It shows me the message box when I am logged in as an Administrator. But when I'm logged in as a user, I don't get the message.
I have the macro security on "Allow this macro to run on all computers" and "Run this macro as an administrator" checked. How do I allow macros for all users? Turn on the Macro Security Settings option (the Security tab) in your Outlook Options. In the Macro Security settings window you'll see a tick box with a "Enable macros for all users" option. Check that box and click OK.
