How can I see my child's iPhone location?
My 15 month old has an iPhone, and I'd like to see where he's been on it.
I assume the app called Find My iPhone will be able to do that. But how can I see his location if he gets a call or a text while it's in my hands? Is there a way to get his exact location?
Unfortunately, Find My iPhone will not work for children's phones, and there is no other way to locate your child's phone when it is on. As a parent, you can have your child set up a different number for them to use in case of an emergency. Your number may be more than your child's friends' numbers, but you can limit the other numbers they can call to be only emergency calls.
Can I lock my child's iPhone remotely?
As a parent, it would be nice to know if I could lock my child's iPhone remotely.
As an Apple user, I'd be more than interested in seeing if I could control the lock button on my iPhone remotely.
If you already jailbreak your iPhone, there are several apps available that allow you to do exactly this. I'll list some below. If you don't have the jailbreak, then no, you can't do this. It is not possible. The "Lockscreen" app allows for this, but it only works when the user has no input.
Also, the method used by Cydia can only be used with a jailbroken iPhone. The reason being is that it uses a jailbreak trick where it takes advantage of an application that needs root access to activate (or something like that.I'm not really a native english speaker).
You know what I think? You have just confirmed that Apple themselves want us to jailbreak our phones! Which I totally see why, as jailbroken iPhones are far more convenient than normal non-jailbroken iPhones, especially if you're the type of parent who doesn't want to fiddle with a locked bootloader for example. It works great as long as you unlock it first, but of course that's what jailbreak apps are designed to do.
Yes, I see where you're coming from. However, as I said in my other post, there are options available to parents without the jailbreak. There are parental controls, or even setting your device to an account that is not linked with your primary.
Can someone track my location with my phone number?
There are ways to find out if your phone number is connected to your location. It's not always accurate but can be helpful, especially if there is a warrant out for your arrest.
When making a call, you are assigned a phone number on a "trunk" or "line". The first part of the number identifies the trunk or line, while the remainder identifies the number within that trunk or line. If you make a phone call and the police are able to trace it, they may identify your number by the remainder of the phone number.
The last three digits of the phone number are usually not sufficient to do this. To see the full phone number, go to: and enter your phone number in the search box on the left side of the page. Then click the "Phone Line Details" link. This will show you all of the phone numbers assigned to your account, including a list of the lines assigned.
In more recent phones, the last three digits of the phone number are not sufficient to determine the number. However, many carriers provide information about the phone. If the carrier tells you the number, it may be possible to trace your location. However, keep in mind that the carrier's information is only as reliable as their knowledge of your location. Most carriers are willing to provide a lot of information to police but there are times when they are afraid that they will be held liable if it turns out that they gave false information and you were misidentified.
The FCC regulates cell phone carriers. FCC regulations state that carrier must keep records of calls by customers, including the subscriber name, number and location for a period of six years. If you were arrested under an emergency wiretap order or the carrier made an emergency call, it is unlikely that they will have to provide this information. These types of records are kept for special emergency situations, such as terrorist threats.
It is not always clear if you were given an emergency call. In addition, most cell phone carriers allow subscribers to make calls anonymously, even if a court order is on file. If you are concerned that a carrier is blocking your identity, you should contact the carrier directly.
An application called PhoneLookup uses a reverse-directory approach to determining your phone number's connection to your current location.
What is the best iPhone app to track your child?
The iPhone apps to track your children make it a whole lot easier for parents to see where they're going, who they're with, how far they're travelling and all the other little details we need to keep an eye on. But what is the best iPhone app to track your child? It depends on your needs. When you look at the various apps available, they can have varying features and price tags. Are they going to do the same things as each other? What else will they do differently? Let's take a look at the basic differences between them, so you know which one is right for you.
Price - is it free or paid? Most of these apps are free but some cost money to use. Apps that you can download from iTunes are free to use but you may have to pay for apps that are downloaded straight to the phone. Some of them come pre-installed with a certain feature, like Safety Key, SOS and emergency button or they add it later on so you don't pay a lot extra.
When choosing your app, it's important to consider whether you want something free or paid and if you're willing to pay extra. For example, apps like the Safety Mode and SOS buttons are standard and come in the phone, but many other apps can be purchased in the Apple store. Other features can also be added, just like the inbuilt Safety Key feature.
Searches and alerts can be helpful as they let you know when the phone's being used and they do not come with any cost. It is therefore up to you whether you prefer to pay extra for them. They will be a useful addition when you're on the road and need to know if your children have any trouble or you notice their phone being used. If you're already paying for the safety feature that alerts you if the phone is lost, then there isn't any reason why you should need to pay extra to track and search through the location of the phone. You do not need to buy two of the same app.
