Can my parents see my incognito history on WIFI?

Can my parents see my incognito history on WIFI?

We live in a rental home so we are pretty new here and only have WIFI.

We do not have the WAP that comes with the house. When I try to view my internet history I get a red dot in the lower left hand corner of my browser and it says I am not logged in. My parents sometimes see my history but they can't copy and paste it because they aren't allowed. How do I log them in? They are both on my computer but if I open up my history in one they would be able to see the other one. I've never had this issue before where you cant see my history until I log on. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my dad watching my browsing history because of my iPhone. I created an incognito account and logged into that which was the same account I use on my phone, and then logged into my main account from my computer (so that dad only sees the incognito browsing history and not the browsing history of the main account), so you might try creating an incognito browser while logged into the default or primary account that you use (I think) and then log into your other account as well? In other words, go back to the incognito browser, log into it, change the main account you use, click "log in", and then open your original incognito account and open all the tabs and go browsing normally, without your parents seeing anything. And there's no real danger because we're talking about an incognito window and not any other browser that's actually been set up for that purpose (a private browsing session in Chrome for example). So your incognito account is safe unless you choose to upload files in any of your incognito sessions. It's all contained in a single cookie if you go the cookie method.

As others suggested. A simple solution would be to go to your ISP's website and create a new wireless connection. Log in to your account through that connection. If your parents should see your incognito window, they won't be able to see any browser history from that connection. If you then do another incognito session, you won't be traced.

Where does Firefox store private browsing?

I use Private Browsing for most sites.

However, when I go to the web, some sites, especially those with ad networks or tracking systems, can identify that I was on their site by using my IP address and cookies.

For example, I went to www.cnet. When I went to my account page this morning, I got an email saying: "Thank you for shopping at cnet.com Did you forget your gift card? Please click here to add it to your account. We look forward to seeing you again soon."

Why do these sites know I was on their site? How do they figure out I was there? I thought Private Browsing was supposed to protect my privacy. Do these sites store my cookies in a way that allows them to see that I was on their site? If so, is there a way to make this information private? If not, why not? I have heard of Firefox's Tracking Protection feature, but I don't know if it stores my history on the server. (Of course, I don't want my history of which sites I've been to because I don't want anyone to know.) Is there a way to see how private browsing works in Firefox? Thanks for the help! Your private browsing is not stored on your machine. Your browser sends a request to the website, and the website sends back a cookie with a unique identifier. If you had visited the website before, the website can then look up your old identifier, and associate the new one with the old.

Can you see incognito history Firefox?

By Ellyn6 / 01.20.16

I have a friend who uses incognito constantly. I can never figure out how she does it. I always see her browsing at my office (the only computer with Internet) and the browser history on all of the browsers are totally different. How do you do that? I think I need to change my IP address. Is there something else I can do? I've tried using incognito mode for years, but I am stuck with seeing her browsing! Thanks for any suggestions!

Incognito is the same as Private Browsing. If your friend is using Windows 7 or 8 or using a non-free browser, they can go to Cntrl - L - I. Otherwise, it will open the browser and open in private browsing.
