Can you look up IP addresses on Google Maps?
I'm trying to do the following thing: Look up an IP address in Google Maps.
Click on the result and get a direct link to the website, eg. I've been looking at the Google Maps API but I don't really understand how the key works, because I can't find anything about a key for that, and I'd prefer not to give my IP address to a website. Thanks in advance! Use a reverse DNS lookup service, such as. You can then use the IP address from that page as a google maps marker.
What is the range of Google IP address?
When setting up a new device on our network, some of these have already been set up via our corporate Google Apps account.
How is it possible for them to be in these addresses because from where I see, when searching the IP address, they are all coming out very high. What happens if I try to communicate from that IP address? is it not blocked. I want to know how Google manages this huge set of numbers
Thank you in advance.
The answer to this problem would help everyone who are trying to create DNS and set up their IP's on our work network. Thanks A Google IP (173.194.193.0 - .254) can be blocked by ISP, you can use tools like to find out which IP you need. Don't worry with these you can still host sites on those IP's. You have to change IP's very seldom as your work will block your normal internet usage (in the USA most ISP's don't allow regular surfing on google), and since your connection comes from one network (work) to another network (residential) your bandwidth will also be reduced and if you ever got a ticket from your ISP for excessive use of bandwidth then the first people you will blame is your ISP, and they in turn will also give excuses to the company for why you were doing this.
The range of an individual ip address is 256, but google gives addresses higher than that. You won't get a response from those high numbers as there is not machine at that location. There are 2 things here: IP's & IP blocks. They might just be for internal use only, or might be for external use. For an example: A user might have a work or home address of 10.10, but internally they might have 10.0 as their address space (10 IP Addresses). Now the 10.0 will belong to whatever device is on that subnet and will have some of the machines on that subnet in range. If I put in the domain "mainsite.com" on one of those machines, any computer in that zone will be able to reach the site.
Also with IP blocks you have the option to add some specific range to be blocked to computers that don't even have an IP address. For example if you have 192.
How do I know the range of my IP address?
How can I know the range of my IP address?
IPs are always a /32, or 64. Your computer knows it's own IP address because it's assigned it.
There's no practical way for a third party to find your IP address without being told by you. To be fair, that doesn't mean it's impossible. If your ISP was stupid enough to give it out and you have your modem configured to send DHCP requests to the ISP, then you're wide open.
If you want to hide your IP address from third parties, use a VPN.
