How do I manage Google permissions?
By default, Google Drive uses the Write and delete permission by your account.
How do I manage access to Google services? Most Google apps are automatically created with a guest account, which is linked to an email address. By default, a person will be able to view other user's Drive files and also add or change sharing permissions for any Google service. But if you have an individual or group account, you should see that it's an option for these services to use an account rather than a guest account.
If you know which Google apps you want to give certain access to, check out the instructions on how to link them to the correct account here. How do I stop automatic sharing? When your Google account is shared, it's accessible to all people who sign in to the same Google apps as you. You can remove sharing privileges by: Open a Google app in your mobile phone. Tap the menu button (top-left corner). Choose Settings > Account settings. In the Sharing options screen, choose to uncheck the boxes next to the Google apps you want to stop sharing with others. How do I delete my Google account? Open a Google app on your mobile phone and tap the Menu button (top-left corner). Choose Settings > Delete account. Type your email address and tap Next. You'll receive an email notice telling you that your account will be deleted within 30 days of its next sign-in. If your email address is already in another Google account, your current Google account won't be deleted. You'll need to choose a new email address to be added as a backup to your other Google accounts.
Is the data that Google captures from me secure? No. Google's main security problems include: Google knows too much about me. And sometimes they share this information with advertisers without telling me, then the advertiser does the same thing.
How do I remove access permissions?
I have an application that needs to do some heavy calculations with data.
The problem is that even if I set the app with no permission to access file system, it does get permission at one point and crashes the process.
Is there a way to disable or uninstall the access permission for the file system so the process would run without having to uninstall everything else first? Is this the only way to stop the access permissions for the file system? Yes. There is no way around that on Android. Your best shot is a try / except loop that first checks if you have permission before crashing. You could use setuid (root) with the app but that's not very common and in most cases you'll still need to check for the permission.
Where is the Google Account permissions page?
The Google Account permissions page that comes up before you sign in is a long page with too many categories to easily navigate.
I was wondering where this is found and what's the easiest way to add permissions (like my camera for photos)? I have used the 'Add' button and the 'manage' button but it has the same info as the 'View' button. So they all lead to the same page which might not be how it's meant to work.
I'm trying to set up a second account but want to go step by step - can't find a page that allows me to sign up for the second one in the right way? Hi Mabrae. We've now taken a few months out of our main Android development to put the finishing touches on the new Google Account app, which will make the Google Account management experience easier. It should be available in Android Market (for now) as well as Play Store shortly.
The new app will also let you quickly access important information about your Google Account such as your login name, account balance, etc. Once you've signed in using the new app, you'll have all the info you need at your fingertips.
It will include a "Settings" button that will take you to the Settings app, which will let you access a number of Google Account-related settings. You'll also be able to manage the following on your Android device: Access your Gmail account. Access your Google Documents account. Manage your applications. Control the type of devices to which you share your phone number and account information, and more. While we're not yet sure about how to exactly tie this new app into the existing app, you will still be able to sign in from your Google Account app to manage your Google Account. We're also working on an email app (see below), but it won't be ready until after the launch of the new app.
As many of you have requested, we've added a sign in screen to the new Google Account app. That way, when users sign in using your device, they can choose whether they'd like to continue using your phone number and sync data on their device, or use their own phone number.
