How to disable proxy server?
The issue is that some web pages don't want to load. They get a "cannot connect" or "proxy is not responding" when they try to reach google.com, mail.com, youtube.com, etc.
This happens when I connect to my network through work (I have a proxy) and also when I connect to the network through my university's WLAN (it uses a proxy). If I go through the internet, it works fine, and I can access everything I need.
This problem has been occurring since the morning, but I have no idea what might be causing it. My router's configuration was never changed, so it is not something software-related. I already tried this:
And it did not solve the issue. How can I disable my proxy? It looks like your university blocks port 80 in order to serve up HTTP proxies. If you are on Windows, you could disable the proxy by clicking the Start button, going to Control Panel and clicking on Network Connections. Right-click on the connection labeled Ethernet and select Properties. Go to the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) tab. Here you can set both the proxy and the proxy port number. As an aside, you will need to set up a new TCP/IP socket in order for your connection to function properly.
Hope this helps.
How do I enable proxy server on PS4?
We've known for a while that the Playstation 4 was going to have a network adapter, but how can we get internet access? What about downloading games and other things? Here's how. When you start up the console, all you're going to see is a spinning cursor and a splash screen asking if you want to set up your console, which probably means it will update your system software. You're going to hear a noise like a helicopter circling around a few times, but after the first few seconds, nothing will happen. That's because Sony has a whole lot of tricks up their sleeves when they talk about their next-gen system, and we have a whole lot of tips in this video to help you use your PS4.
The PS4 console doesn't have a web browser built in so it won't be possible to download or install apps. What you'll need is an alternative that takes full advantage of your console's unique features.
Step 1: Set up the router. First, you'll need a router of some type. In the past, routers often required you to connect the network interface of the PS3 to the internet, but these days, most are ready to be directly connected to your modem, and even have built-in Ethernet ports.
To set up the router, you'll need either a USB cable or micro-SD card. Plug it in the router and plug the micro-SD card in it.
Step 2: Connect your PS4 to the router. Connecting the PS4 to the router, then power on the system. Your PS4) or from the PS4's remote control button, hit Menu and select the Power option. From there, click the System Settings link and follow the directions there.
You'll be asked to insert your micro-SD card.
Why is my PS4 showing proxy server?
I bought a PS4 a couple of days ago and it seems to be showing me a proxy server when I go to the system settings. I have an IP address, but my router does not show this. I have no idea why the PS4 is using this. Does anybody know what might be going on? It shows the proxy server for 3 days and then suddenly it doesn't.
I have tried everything I can think of to reset the router and it still is showing me a proxy server. I am at a loss as to what to do next.
This is most likely caused by your internet provider's DNS servers. It's a common problem with Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, etc.
The DNS servers for your internet connection are the same as your router's DNS servers. When you change your internet connection (or reset your router) the DNS servers may change on the PS4, which means the PS4 will use the new DNS servers. You could simply enter "openDNS" in your router's DNS settings and that would fix the problem.
If you want to reset your router to factory defaults (which I would not recommend, unless you have backups), see this post.
