How do I find my parent access code on Google?
I was looking at my google drive account when I found this code hidden in my emails.
It is called my Parent's Access Code (PAC) and you can find it on the "Forgot password" page on google.
If your parent has enabled two-factor authentication, they will have been emailed a 4 digit code. They must click a button to enable their account on Google and then a link in the email to click to register your child's account. You can get the same code by logging in using the password and security key you used to sign up.
How do I create a parental code?
I know the title is a bit of a mouthful, but there's some good news here - parental codes are super easy. First things first, the reason you have a parent code is so that Google won't index your site. It's also so that Google won't take your site as spam. That second part can be a bit confusing, so let me explain.
When Googlebot crawls your website, it has to know which URL it should follow. Googlebot's job is to make sure that the same URL doesn't get indexed multiple times (this is so that if you change the name of your website or make changes to your site structure, the old pages don't get indexed again). The way Googlebot's able to tell if a page is different from another page is by checking the URL. If it finds any URL that's been indexed more than once, then it won't index that page again.
What this means is that if you have multiple pages on your website, Google will not allow it to index the same page more than once. So, for example, if your website has 20 pages, Google will not index 20 of the same page more than once. If you wanted to prevent this from happening, you could create a URL that looks like this:
When you make this URL, Googlebot will be directed to a page that looks something like this: www.com/parentalcode.html
The trick is that Googlebot thinks the above page is a different page from www. Now, in order for Google to know that www.com/parentalcode/ isn't the same as www.com, it needs a URL that identifies each page. This way, Google can tell them apart.
If you have the same URL for multiple pages, Googlebot will look at that URL and know that it's the same page. It won't be allowed to crawl that URL again.
How can I create a parental code? If you're using WordPress, there's a super easy way to create a parental code. Go to your WordPress dashboard and head to the Settings page. Click on Settings under the name of your website.
How do I reset my Google parental code?
This is a discussion on ?
Within the Google Gadgets forums, part of the Apps category; Hi, I think I can no longer sign up for Google.com products and services for my kids. I just got this message:
"Thanks . I think I can no longer sign up for Google. I just got this message: 'Thanks for taking care of your kids. We have decided that they're not ready to have free Google.com products at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience!
It's important that they receive all of their educational information from schools and educational websites. For safety reasons, you should not allow your children to access some of these sites without parental consent.'
However, when I go to google.com/nofrag, everything is fine and I see no errors. Any ideas? Thanks
The reason for the message is likely due to an attempt to sell you something. You'd want to delete your kid's profiles and start over, and it might even help to log in from another computer to delete the existing account before starting over with a new one.
Thanks for the response guys. However, since I already deleted all the kids accounts on my kids behalf by logging in on my computer, I wonder if I could do that on the other computers, or am I stuck with having to redo everything the kids have done through the internet? You're right--I should have checked the Google.com/frag/nofrag first. I got that error screen and went back to google.com without checking what's in the /nofrag folder. Thank you all for your responses.
There may be a way to delete this stuff automatically from the other computers. You could try searching Google.com/logout and then delete all the cookies and other information. Or, if your ISP will let you, set your browser to clear all its own cookies on exit.
If deleting the cookies and such from other computers doesn't do it, there are other possibilities, such as: Logging into the website with the current browser and deleting all cookies & cached information. Using a different browser. (A lot of browsers have an option to remove this information, including Netscape.)
Downloading Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, IE, etc.
