Can you bundle HBO Max and Disney Plus?
Are you a current or former Comcast subscriber?
You may soon have the option to bundle the two new streaming services together. According to a report from Wall Street Journal's Technology, Business & Culture, Comcast is seeking to get customers to sign up for two separate HBO Max and Disney Plus plans through their standard Comcast cable TV subscription, with the two companies sharing a single login and login password.
If this happens, it will also reportedly allow the companies to stream content on more than one screen (like Netflix), but it's not yet clear what the companies intend to do with that information. What is clear is that if the plan is approved, it will go against the way that the two streaming platforms work. While the two companies have launched their own apps, their individual plans are still distinct, so the idea of them merging is contrary to how consumers have purchased streaming services until now.
The report also claims that Comcast is offering the service through a promotional page that promises customers they will receive discounted Comcast Internet service as well as savings when they order the bundles. This could create a problem for those who don't like the idea of bundling services and want to pay a premium for each service separately. What do you think of this potential move? Is there a bundle for streaming services?
I have a requirement where the user should be able to stream any video/audio file from his device to the media player.
The requirements are simple, the user should be able to play the file he wants and when he is done, it should stop.
Or if not, can I implement this using the MediaPlayer class? Any help is appreciated. If you want to use the native MP3 playback you'll need to create a MediaPlayer object and set the MediaFormat object to it, and then call prepare() on it. You can also add a OnCompletionListener to the MediaPlayer object and you can use the .getDuration() method of the MediaPlayer object to determine the length of the file. Once the user is done playing the file, you can simply stop the MediaPlayer object.
As far as bundling, it depends on what you mean by "bundling". A few possibilities: There are lots of libraries that will allow you to add media playback to your application. I would recommend a library like libstreamingplayer or ASYNC for Android.
If you really just want to play files directly from your device, I think the best option is to look into the MediaRecorder API. You could create a custom MediaStore that stores a list of all of the files on the device. When the user wants to play a file, you could search for the file in the list and start playing the file.
Is HBO Max still free with Amazon Prime?

I don't know how many of you are still watching Game of Thrones on HBO, but if you are, then you're probably still watching the show on HBO GO (or HBO Now, for those of you living in Canada) even though you have a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV, or Chromecast. But what about when you're done watching? Does HBO Go offer you any other streaming options? HBO Go is one of the most popular streaming apps on Android, and while it is free to use, you are still limited to only using it one device at a time. As of today, there are a number of things you can do on your Fire TV that you can't do on the app. You can't, for example, use the app to watch movies or shows on Amazon Prime Video; you can't use it to watch the latest episodes of The Sopranos or The Wire; you can't stream games, sports, or news from the Associated Press or any of the other websites that will stream over the internet. And while you can use the app to watch content from Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video on the Fire TV, you won't be able to watch HBO.
I'm a huge fan of HBO GO because it's one of the most robust Android apps out there. It offers more features than the HBO website, it lets me record and live-stream shows, it lets me change the quality of the audio and video (so I can listen to the narration instead of just hearing the dialogue), and it lets me watch and record all of my favorite shows on a single device without having to purchase additional hardware.
If you're still watching Game of Thrones on HBO, then chances are that you're still using the app. While HBO Go's main purpose was always to be a way for you to watch and record all of your favorite content on a single device, the app started acting as a replacement for a number of online streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video. Nowadays, the app doesn't have all of the streaming functions that the website has, but it still offers quite a few advantages.
Is HBO Max bundled with anything?
I just got the standard HBO bundle.
That might be fine for families with kids. But most people, when they want a TV, want to have it at more than one place.
We already pay two different services to keep up to date with sports one that we buy by the month (in addition to our cable package) and one that we get on the internet through services like Sling TV and YouTube TV. This is going to be a nightmare.
What should cord cutters think of HBO Max as it stands right now? It seems pretty good compared to traditional cable. But it'll probably drive prices up for families and single people who don't need everything in their entertainment diet."
So. I still have Netflix and Apple TV, but I could cancel the AppleTV. Then would I also need antenna to receive broadcast networks or do I just skip those altogether and be perfectly fine?
"You'd likely have to buy the add-on channels separately from whatever service you were currently using, but that's not unusual, or even wrong. HBO itself is part of a multichannel paid subscription, after all."
And if I got HBO Max plus Showtime and Cinemax as they are now, plus the HBO Go, does that mean I could stream them using the AppleTV and only have cable television service on my tv? If you get the HBO channel as part of a cable package, the HBO Go app is free and available for viewing, but if you opt out then you'd have to get all the same channels including the HBO Go channel. Not quite the same price as cable since it's bundled.
How is HBO Max different from what's already out there? It may make sense for families, given how popular kids show content is. And people in larger families will have to sign up to a couple of monthly subscriptions.
Does this mean if I cancel my HBO through my TV provider, I'm basically screwed as far as HBO content?
