What is the most beautiful white camellia?
I have seen them, I know their names, I know what they look like and I know what they smell like. My question is, is there a White Camellia that is considered to be the most beautiful? And if so, which one? Thank you in advance.

Since we are only dealing with the "best" here (if it's beauty we are talking about, then "the best" is impossible to pin down) we need to be as specific as possible. If we are talking about aesthetics (and the flower has a beautiful look or feels beautiful), then I would say "Snowy Egret". It has a unique color, is in full bloom during the winter, and when I've had it in my yard I've never even noticed the "green" ones nearby. The combination of all three attributes makes it a perfect flower.
If we are talking about scent, then "Snowy Egret" is not the most fragrant, but it's still a pretty good contender. It also blooms later than most other camellias and so its smell may be more prominent during the day.
If we are talking about how the flower looks, then "Snowy Egret" is really only a contender. Other colors and shapes are not necessarily less beautiful.
In the end, the "best" is based on your own personal opinion. You can feel free to express yours in the comments section.
Thank you for your input! I have many different ones in my garden, I have Snowy Egret, the one that I believe is the prettiest, is the Snowy Egret that has two white petals. I am interested in finding out which white camellia is considered to be the most beautiful! Cynthia-Marjorie Jan 20 '13 at 8:51. As long as we're all in agreement on the Snowy Egret, this question is answered. But now I'm going to ask a follow up: how can you tell the difference between Snowy Egret and Snowy Petunia? I'm guessing that you can see the difference in the petals.

@J. Correct.
How tall do white camellias grow?
How much snow do they like?
I am learning more about them here than I have about any other species, and I hope you will follow me as I try to catch up.
I have a nice selection of plants and trees here on my hill and so I wanted to learn how to make sure they were safe from wind, salt, snow and rain. I will post pictures later today as I get some sun to show the new plants.
The best camellias I have ever had were raised from seed from two cuttings a friend gave me. The first plants came from the center of the two cuttings, the second came from one side. Those cuttings were about 12" tall. When I planted them out there was nothing above 8 inches tall and they just shot up. I have never had better plants in my life!
I bought several bulbs from Johnny's that were supposed to be the best "show bulbs" you can buy. They are called "Florence Ramey". I can not wait to find out what they look like this fall. I also found one bulb that is supposed to be the most fragrant and I think it has that title because I can smell it all the way up here from the front porch. I can't wait to dig it up!
Today is the last day of my garden. When I dug up the tomatoes a few weeks ago I was excited to see how many I would have. A few days later I looked up and I had lost at least a third of my crop to the birds and bugs. I was disappointed and so was the cat and I know they took a couple of the plants.
Since then I started over several times but I got so tired of being outside and having bugs and other critters take their share. Then I decided to plant lettuce. It is fun to watch how the cat and his sister play with the lettuce leaves. He runs under my truck and jumps onto the truck to eat the lettuce. If I don't stop him he takes off and runs around the garden. Since they were always outside I didn't want to keep them inside for the winter and so I put them out.
What is the order of the White camellia?
It's a perennial, of the
Amellias, forming a very handsome tree; it can be recognized by the.
stipules which are joined with the petals, and the style being divided. Into three parts. Flowers from June to September.
=The White Bellflower.= Common throughout this country, in moist places, growing from ten to. Twenty feet high. =Camellia.= The whole genus of this tribe has a long and tapering perianth. Separated into equal segments, the uppermost terminating in a single. Leaf-like organ called the acuminate or lanceolate, as seen in our. Example. These lobed, acuminate, or lanceolate leaves cover the plant, the rest of the flower being concealed beneath. The sepals are generally four or five, sometimes six in number, according to their position, and. Are united at the base, and divided into two separate parts called the. Scapes. On these arises the superior sepal, which covers the whole upper portion of the perianth; but on the other side appears the lower. Sepal, which envelops the lower portion of the perianth. The flowers are in cymes, and may be of two kinds: those with five. Large and spreading, obovate-shaped petals, which fall off by stalks. Proportionately slender and small; and those whose sepals are united. Or close together into a tight capsule, and the petals are more or. Less folded up and inserted under each other, and look something like. The wings of an eagle. All the tribes of Camellia are natives of Southern Asia and Africa. Some, for instance, have their perianth united and enclose a small ovary. Which has no seed-vessels. The flowers in our garden example have a great number of seeds; the seeds when mature fall down in clusters of. Six or eight, each of which drops off at once, leaving the empty seed-. Case to be filled up by others. Many times I have seen seed-cases, on a sandy soil, filled with fruitless seeds, which had lost their way, and. Fallen through the sand, and were ready to burst open any time.
