Does Netflix block CyberGhost?

Why is Netflix saying I am using a proxy when I am not?

This is a discussion on ?

Within the Netflix Help forums, part of the Television category; Is there a way to fix Netflix problems where it thinks I am using a proxy when I am not? I have just . I have just uninstalled and reinstalled my Netflix account because I couldn't get the right "profile" for my ISP (it was set up to use an http proxy to get the correct Netflix listing). It worked fine for a while and then suddenly it decided I was using a proxy and refused to let me in, even though I had completely removed all traces of my previous "proxy" profile.

When I try to change my profile settings (http proxy), the only options are: Manual selection. The "Manual selection" button just cycles between the three options above. The "Select a profile" and "Next" buttons do nothing. When I click "Help", I can see that "Proxy list" is unchecked.

When I go to my Advanced settings in Internet Explorer, I see that "Enable Active X controls" is checked. Anyone know what might be going on here? My only other idea is that maybe the Netflix site has changed something and I need to tell it not to auto-detect proxies when I enter my login information. But I don't know how to do that.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Does Netflix block CyberGhost?

I recently went back to Netflix and downloaded the entire season of "House of Cards" which had never been available on the service.

I'd had a subscription to the site for some time, so I'm sure it was available then, but I had just stopped watching it and hadn't bothered to go back.

It took two days to download the entire season. At first it seemed to be working fine - I watched it for a couple of days before I had to get around to downloading it off another source. The second time I tried, though, the video files would not load at all. Instead, I got a blank gray screen with the Netflix logo and a message saying: "Sorry, this content isn't available in your country".

I checked my IP address on a VPN service (which is what I use for my connection), but it seemed to be coming from my home address. I think it was around 1:30 AM when I first noticed this problem, and I've been watching TV and videos on my computer ever since.

I've already tried rebooting and restarting my router, but that didn't help. I figured it was probably a CyberGhost issue, but that doesn't seem to be working.

It's quite likely that Netflix blocks CyberGhost (and possibly other VPNs) but I can't find any details on this on their site or elsewhere. I've emailed them to ask but they haven't responded.

CyberGhost uses port 80 and 443 as well as port 8080 and 8443, so it's possible that Netflix blocks access to those ports, but if the router is not responding to port 8080 (which it should be doing), then the problem is more likely with Netflix itself. Can someone tell me how I can check if the VPN service is blocking access? Or if anyone has been able to work around this problem? Netflix seems to have blocked you. CyberGhost can be used with any port number and will work with Netflix. When you are using the Netflix login on CyberGhost your IP address will change and they will know you are using a VPN service.

I use Netflix for several reasons and I use CyberGhost as the main reason for using a VPN. I am able to watch the shows that I want to watch and avoid commercials. If I need to watch a show outside the USA I just switch to another server.

How do I bypass Netflix proxy block?

I live in China and I'm subscribed to Netflix.

When I use the proxy to go to the Netflix website, I always get the message "Netflix is not available in your area." What's going on here? How can I bypass this?

In your network settings, under Network Connections, right-click on your connection to the Internet and select Properties. In the General tab, there is an option called Proxy settings. Here, you can set your proxy servers.

So, you could set it to anything you like, for example, the IP address of your web proxy, but to be sure, just select the options that are similar to what you had before.

How do I get past Netflix proxy error?

We have an old-style router that we use for internet.

The device is set to get our wifi and cable connection through the router and just pass that through to devices connected to the router. We use Netflix on all of our devices and when we try to access it one device, like a mobile phone, using the Netflix app, we get the proxy error message when going through the old router device.

We tried getting it to work using the WiFi settings on the router device but that didn't work so we disabled the wifi on the old device. That works great for our phones, but the tablet can't get past the proxy error while streaming on our Apple TV.

We tried updating the Netflix app on the Apple TV and then on the mobile phone to see if we could force the Apple TV into Netflix mode, but still no luck. The only solution that we have found is to set the streaming TV/DVR receiver on the old router device into Netflix mode so that it can then be the source of the video for our other devices.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don't believe we have another old router. We are out of time with these old things so had to let them go.

I have been following the post here () but don't think that makes a difference. It seems to be a common problem but have not found a solution for my situation.

I have been following the post here () but don't think that makes a difference. You probably have a Netflix proxy server set up at some point before you get to the router, then when the device is requesting a stream from Netflix, the server gives that proxy info, so when the device reaches the proxy, the proxy tells Netflix to open up a connection to Netflix via the old device.
