How do I allow WhatsApp on proxy?

Which proxy works in Pakistan?

There has been a debate raging for quite sometime on the web on which proxy is best to use in Pakistan.

I am pretty new to surfing the web and have hardly used any proxies. I wanted to use a proxy to see if it would affect my net speed as I am a paying user and I need good quality service.

First off, I want to state that my router (Belkin) is a "D-Link" and not "TP-Link". However, I can assure that its not the "D-link" issue but the "Proxy" issue.com

I don't really know if any of them are better/worse than each other. As of right now, the IP filter only seems to filter out the "cant get online" message. YAHOO was a bit faster but the time difference was not very much.

I had seen the other option is to use a Proxy but thats not quite what I am looking for. And also to be honest I didnt even know what to call that one but anyway lets just start from scratch.

So I have no idea where to start with that. I have this question: I would like to use a website proxy or something. It will not require a registration of username and password, just the time that I start using it.

Wouldn't that be great? Is there such a thing? If not does anyone know of one? And what do you think is the best way to use a proxy? To download sites from a proxy like, google, yahoo, or any other type of sites? Can you please refer to which website is giving those stats of downloads/uploads per day in each country? I am asking because I want to know the total monthly data transfer of each country in their websites for comparison to me. If no such statistic available then please refer the number of data usage per day in my country (Pakistan). Originally Posted by Azzal. I don't think so.

I need to be able to use WhatsApp on a proxy server.

This is because I am on a university network which can only use one IP and one port at a time. Therefore, a server I'd like to use will not be connected to the internet, but I will need a WiFi connection to get off the campus network.

My first thought was a VPS since I don't have an option to be a root user or a virtual machine without root access, however, those types of VPS offer a lot of control options (in terms of what to install) compared to just using openvz, and I want to keep things light (no heavy plugins, etc). How do I go about setting up an application that would not use a root account? I know I have to put in my own host key, and it has to be unprivileged, however, what does this mean exactly? And, do I have to be on my own IP address to keep my connection private? How should I make this work? Since you're on a university network, I suggest that you either use a VPN or tunnel with SSH (or any other tunneling protocol) over a separate, unrestricted connection between you and the internet. If they limit you, so do you.

If you're allowed to create an IP address, then set up NATing rules on your router. I have done this with Squid with success.

If you're not allowed to create an IP address, then you need to get external assistance. Your university admins will probably have no knowledge of what you're doing so getting them involved might not be a bad idea. A VPN or SSH tunnel is probably the best approach, but a VPS isn't going to cut it for anonymity.

To answer your last question, yes, if you are allowed to create an IP address, you need to remain off their subnet. It doesn't sound like that's the case though so I'm not sure what you're up to. You can check with your university what their policy is regarding this.

Which proxy address to use for WhatsApp?

As many of you know WhatsApp is a mess.

If you try to open a WhatsApp conversation with someone on your other WhatsApp account then it opens with the old name of WhatsApp. This is because of a known issue that they have which prevents opening conversations between people who have the exact same name. This means that if I open a WhatsApp conversation with someone on their phone it will open on my computer but when I try to open it on my phone it will just display as empty. The way you can fix this is by using different proxy addresses. WhatsApp provides us with 2 proxy addresses (IP addresses) which we can use to bypass this issue, one is for Android and one for iOS. You may be wondering why there are 2 proxies. There is a good reason for this. The Android proxy is only for Android, whereas the iOS proxy is for iOS. You might say that this makes sense and you would be right. If you open the WhatsApp Android app on an iPhone or iPad it will use the Android proxy because it cannot be connected to an Android device. Whilst I am aware of this issue and can see the logic in why this is a thing, I am not sure why they can't just let users open the application on the iPhone or iPad with the iOS proxy. For example: You have an Android phone with the app, you try to open a WhatsApp conversation on your iPhone (iOS) and it doesn't work. You go into the WhatsApp settings and change the proxy to the iOS proxy, it then works.

That is why it is great that they provide us with 2 proxy addresses. If they didn't, then you would have to set the proxy yourself on the phone, which means that this wouldn't really help much at all. As you can see, not only does the WhatsApp app not support the iOS proxy address, but it also doesn't support the Android proxy address either. This means that if you change your Android proxy settings, it won't help you on your iPhone. And vice versa, if you change your iOS proxy settings on an Android device, it won't work on your iOS device.
