Is passcode and password the same thing?
Can I have a password for a website and a passcode for an iOS app?
I really would like to figure this out in case you didn't know, it's so much more easier to type passwords than passcodes, which are very difficult to remember.
"Passcode" and "password" are used interchangably for the purposes of security, although their meanings are slightly different. A passcode is what your device needs to get into, whereas a password is the same thing you put in, but in addition there is also an authentication code (and a different type of code) which unlocks the app when it is activated.
I don't think that Apple makes the distinction clear enough in its documentation, which may help to explain why you seem to have a problem.
How do I create a 6 digit passcode?
Is it possible to create a 6 digit passcode on the android phone? I have tried but it seems that I have been able to create only 4 digit passcodes. I don't believe you can, but in any case there's no reason you need to: if someone has your phone they can guess all 4-digit passcodes as well as 6-digit passcodes and 9-digit passcodes, and they're likely to be able to brute force 6-digit passcodes within a few minutes (and will probably use different techniques for the different number of digits). Even if you created a 6-digit passcode, and then a keylogger were to record your PINs and send them off to a brute-force attacker, they'd be very quickly able to guess a large fraction of the possible 4-digit passcodes. But if you really want a 6-digit passcode, then try using two 4-digit passcodes, with the second one being the reverse of the first (ie a5b6 instead of a6b5). If you use these two 4-digit passcodes together, then you'll be able to select any 6-digit passcode that you like.
To create a 6 digit code, use 2 4 digit codes and the numbers in a circle, starting at For example, if the numbers are 1-9, with the first 4-digit code being 5-9, and the second 4-digit code being 3-7, you would end up with a code such as 5353. For example, if your personal code is "12345" and your personal password is "123", you can create a code like "132425" or "231234", both of which are 8-digit codes.
