What stores are doing returnless refunds?
The returnless returns offer seems to be pretty good in the UK now.
As I am an American expat, I'm wondering how it has worked in the US. What stores have you found that provide returnless refund checks? And, has it been a good idea in your area?
Comments. My store used to not even have a return policy to begin with. They'd just tell you "you suck, but we're open for business anyway." If I really didn't want anything, and I knew it was gonna take them a while to run my card again, I'd tell them a return or exchange was needed. This made no sense, but everyone at the store was like "yeah, it's kinda weird." when I started coming into the store during off-hours. After the return was processed, you then received an exchange if/when you returned to the store; no hassle, no waiting, no nothing.
That doesn't exist here. The problem is that they do not want to give the actual transaction amount back if it's less than what they are charging me. You'll have to come back to the store to pay for the rest". They just want to screw you over.
We used to have returns at the store, however I was not satisfied with the returns policy I got from them. So I called my local branch one day, explained that were going away for the weekend and needed to cancel everything. I asked that they charge me only one dollar for the cancellation, no refunds. While this is not always possible, you can probably work some arrangement with the manager. You will have to get them on your side in any case.
If you call them about cancellations, do you have to state that you will be returning to make a new purchase that is subject to refund? Or can you just say 'We're cancelling it' for good? It varies. We usually ask them that if it's a "sale", you're returning it because of the price or because you are getting a discount, we'll credit your account with that amount so there is no harm in saying, "we're going away, cancel everything for one dollar".
What happens if you don't return an item on time on Amazon?
In the United States, Amazon does not allow returns for used or open-box products.
Customers who choose this option are charged a restocking fee and must pay for return shipping.
The item must be in its original packaging with all labels, tags, and accessories. Items that have been worn, washed, or altered cannot be returned.

Your return will take between 5 and 15 business days to process once we receive it. Note: Please do not return your order if you're not the original buyer. Returning items to Amazon. When returning an item to Amazon, you will not be able to use a third-party courier. Instead, you will need to use Amazon's own courier services.
To return an item to Amazon, follow the steps below. Open the Amazon website. Click Your Account. Click Your Orders. Select the order that you wish to return. Click View Order Details. Click Manage My Returns. In the Manage Your Returns page, click Start a Return. Fill out the return request. Click Submit a Request. A confirmation email will be sent to you.
