How do I enable Dynamic DNS?

How do I use Google domains Dynamic DNS?

Here's the quick version: Sign up for a free Dynamic DNS account, either a .com or a .net. Select your domain and then press the button that says Create a Dynamic DNS Account, which will take you to Google Domains' DNS settings. You'll need to sign up with your Domain Registrar (the one that provides the actual DNS records for your domain).

Select your domain name, then click the tab titled DNS. For the DNS option, it's recommended that you use Google's custom DNS service, as there are no IP address restrictions on how many DNS servers you use. It is possible to host your own DNS servers, but you'll need to obtain the IP addresses yourself (you'll also need to be able to forward those IP addresses to your Dynamic DNS server).

When you select DNS as the type of record, hit Add record and then type in the value dynamic.yourdomain.com for your domain name.

Select the Dynamic DNS option and hit Save changes. You can now view your Dynamic DNS settings. If you have added any custom DNS servers, make sure they are being added.

You can check your records by going to your web browser and typing in the address yourdomain. Your Dynamic DNS will now return your new address every time you go to the website. Dynamic DNS is often used by hackers and other malware/spyware authors. We recommend that you only use it if you have specific needs that it is able to satisfy, and even then use it as part of a larger strategy to deal with your domain names (using something like EasyDNS or similar).

How do I use OpenDNS Dynamic DNS? OpenDNS has an extremely simple Dynamic DNS system. Here's what you need to do: Make sure you have an OpenDNS Dynamic DNS account. You will need to register your domain name with your Domain Registrar.

Choose your domain name and click on the tab titled Dynamic DNS. Select OpenDNS from the Record type drop-down list.
