How do I stop Chrome from making history?

How do I turn off app history on Android?

I've set my Android phone so that I only use Google Play Music for media.

What I want is the standard, Google music app for listening to music. The idea is that I only have the Play Music app on my home screen, and it automatically shows what music I listen to using Google Play Music's library features.

How do I turn off history? I can't see any option anywhere that says "Stop tracking what you play." Where do I find this? How do I uncheck "Listen to what you like?" I'd like to know how to do this for both my phone (Android) and my computer (macbook). Thanks.

Re: ? That doesn't make sense to me. If I am only listening to music using Google Play Music, why would I keep a history of all my apps from earlier? It seems weird to me that it remembers anything at all about what apps and functions I use. Google Play Music has zero reason to have any interest in this information.

There is no way to disable it on android, nor I don't think you have to do that on your Mac. In Play Music, there's an option in the menu which is "Play offline", or something like that. On the "More" menu, there are several options under that section as well. It might not be what you're looking for, but it's a common setting for offline access to media.

For other apps, you'll have to look into their settings. I don't own android device, so I don't know if they are different than iOS settings.

I was just going by the title, and the fact that it was just posted yesterday. Also, I have always used the google play music app, then listened to the local files on the mac side when I traveled, and that was the primary reason I wanted to turn off the history tracker.

For the phone, you can find that option in the App settings for whatever application is set as your default music player. Unfortunately I can't recall if you can do that for all apps on the Mac, but I know you can on Windows.

How do I stop Chrome from making history?

I'm running Chrome 25 on Windows 8.

1. Everytime I launch Chrome, it loads history.sqlite, then clears out the browser's history and then adds my history to it.

Is there any way to disable this or turn it off? I don't want to uninstall the browser because I use it quite a bit and need to keep using it. If you just want to disable this behavior and you don't need the history, you can simply open about:flags, deselect: Clear the history when a site has been loaded (for the entire profile) and restart Chrome.

How do I remove history from Google Chrome?

I want to remove search history and browsing history from Google Chrome. Google Chrome's search engine doesn't offer the ability to delete web history. This feature isn't available to Google Chrome users either.

This tutorial will provide an easy way to remove history and browsing history from your Chrome web browser for quick access. In addition, these commands will also help you clear cached content from Google Chrome. If you're worried about losing your bookmarks, it's recommended that you back them up first.

Note that these instructions are designed to remove History only. You may want to check out our video tutorial on how to clean your browsing history in Chrome for a full guide that covers both History and Browsing.

Delete Browsing History From Google Chrome. Start by opening your Chrome browser. If you aren't signed in to your Google account, you'll need to start the browser as an "incognito" browser session. To open a new session, click on the Chrome icon, select "New Incognito Window". Then enter your email address and password when prompted. Then click the "Create New Profile" button at the bottom of the screen. Now, you should be prompted to choose a new incognito profile. This will create a new incognito profile in which your browser history is completely separate from your personal account. Since there is no browsing history, it will not be automatically synced with your Google account and it cannot be viewed through a Google search engine, even if you sign into your account.

Click the Chrome menu icon located in the top right of the browser. Then select More Tools > Clear browsing data. Follow the on-screen instructions and then press the "Clear browsing data" button at the bottom of the screen.

Next, open the chrome://history page. Click "Clear browsing data". Make sure to click "OK" on the confirmation box that appears. Wait for the page to load completely, and click the "Restart" button in the top left corner to restart Chrome. When Chrome restarts, a message will appear informing you that your browser history has been removed and can now be restored through the "Settings" icon in the browser menu. Click "Restore" to restore the browser history.
