Why is Google blocking access to an app?
Is your app really that good? You create a great app. It gets downloaded by a ton of people. Then, for some reason, it gets removed from the Play Store by Google. You look at the Play Store for some reason and you see that Google blocked your app. What happened? The answer to that question may surprise you. It's all in the details.
We're going to take a look at how Google removes apps from the Play Store, and why it may have happened to you. And, we'll also look at some steps you can take to avoid a similar fate.
Let's start with the definition of remove. What Is Removal? The removal of an app from the Play Store doesn't mean that you've been banned from the Play Store. It's more like an administrative decision made by Google.
In any case, it's fair to say that a removal can be a harsh word for your app, especially if you didn't expect to get that particular removal. Let's go over the three most common reasons for an app being removed from the Play Store: Apps with inappropriate content. In the early days of the Play Store, apps with inappropriate content such as adult, gambling or gambling-related apps were removed from the Play Store. That type of content isn't acceptable on the Play Store, so if Google received a complaint about such an app, it would be removed.
However, as time passed, it became clear that Google wasn't able to block out inappropriate content, such as gambling-related apps and games, completely from the Play Store. In fact, there are plenty of these apps that have been in the Play Store for years.
There were some cases of inappropriate content, including a few years ago when a gaming app called Mortal Kombat was removed from the Play Store. A lot of people complained about the name, but the app was never removed because the name was protected under trademark law.
The most recent example of this comes from last year when a gaming app called Grand Theft Auto was removed from the Play Store.
How do I unblock blocked apps on Google?
My wife asked me to unblock her, and I looked for the answer and couldn't find it. When she wants a certain app, (say Google Keep or Google GCal) blocked it and it wouldn't work. I just wanted to know how to unfocus the "Block" so we could use Google Keep again. My Wife has multiple Gmail and Play Store accounts, so I'm a little confused as to what I need to do.
She would love to be able to use these two Google Apps again. The answer is: you can block Google Play Store, or Gmail accounts (if your wife uses them), but not Google Keep. Blocking Google Play Store is fairly easy. The process involves going to myaccount.google.com, clicking on Sign-In & Security, then click on Sign in and Security and then go to "Sync and Notifications." There is a block toggle on the bottom right of that screen. In most cases, blocking Gmail will also block Play Store. However, there are two exceptions: 1) You must log into your Play Store account by clicking on the hamburger icon (top right) and clicking "Settings." This will allow you to block only Gmail, and 2) If your Play Store account is connected to another Gmail account, you can block Play Store by turning off Sync.
The question is: Why does Google Keep work fine for one user but not for others? Is there a way to open up access? Here is where I'm at now: My wife is currently using my account. I've looked all over my account. She can use apps like Gmail and keep. But when she wants to use other apps, like Google Keep, it doesn't open. It says block. If I click on that block, it brings up Google Keep, but if I put in the email address and click on connect, it just goes back to blocked.
I've looked for hours and hours, found some articles saying you could use "My Android," but I'm not quite sure if that means it's the new Play Store, or Gmail on that phone. But you don't need to "sign in and sync."
We need to block Google Play Store but have Gmail open.
How do you fix this app has been blocked by Google?
The Android Market has not been updated since January 2025, but developers can still sell apps on it. However, many of those apps will be blocked because they are over 18 months old. Developers are given a grace period to get their apps approved, but if the application is not updated by June 30, 2025, it will be automatically removed from the market.
The Android Market is a great place for Android app developers to sell their apps, but Android users can't download and install apps purchased through the Android Market if the Market itself is blocked. This guide explains how to create a new account and then upload apps into the Market, which will allow you to use the Market even when the Market is blocked.
The Android Market can be accessed from the Android Market website at www.android.com. If you don't already have a Market account, you'll have to create one first. Then, you can add any applications you've created or have installed on your phone to your Market account. You can also share Market accounts with your friends, and make purchases on their Market accounts as well.
Before you begin, there are a few things you'll need to know: When you create a Market account, you will have to provide a valid e-mail address. This address will be used to send notifications regarding your Market account and applications you have added to it.
The Android Market uses Google Checkout as its payment service. This payment service will give you a refund if your account is blocked. If you don't have a Google Checkout account, you can create one through the Google Checkout website at
Once you purchase apps, they are downloaded to your phone. There is no way to remove an app after you download it, so it's important to check that you're installing the correct version of an app. Some versions of an app may not work with your phone, so you should always check the features of the app before you buy it.
Adding Apps to Your Market Account. You can download and install apps purchased on the Android Market in your account, as long as the Market is accessible. However, if the Market is blocked, the Market will not work.
