How do I add a macro button in Excel 2013?

How do I enable an Excel macro?

There are several ways to do this.

You can start a new workbook, and then add an option to the macro toolbox. You can find that option by looking at the menu Options -> Trust Center Options -> Trust Center Settings (it's on the left-hand side, with the name of the Macro icon).

To enable it, go to the macro section, and choose Tools -> Options. Look for the "Trust Center Settings" button, and click on it. Then, you should see the following window:
Choose the "Trust Center Settings" option, and then the "Macros" option. This should let you disable and enable macros as needed.

Another way to enable or disable macros is to go to the macro section of the tools menu, and choose Tools -> Trust Center Settings. Again, you'll find the "Macros" option on the left-hand side. If it's not available, you may need to select "Trust Center Settings" from the dropdown list.

How do you enable macros in Excel if it is disabled?

At the bottom of the tab, you'll see a box called 'Enable Macros'.

If you check that box, then close the tab and try to run the macro, you'll get a dialog box that says "You have to enable macros in your workbook before you can run this macro". How do you do this? I've tried various ways like opening the workbook properties, setting the Read Only property to false, etc. But none of them seem to work.

I believe you want to do the following: File -> Options -> Advanced. Check the box that says 'Enable Macro Security'. This is what I found under 'Developer Tools'. Macro security for the current file is disabled. To enable macro security, select Change Macros on Open.
